Water runs our domestic, industrial, agricultural and recreational activities. Today the world is facing a critical imbalance between water demand and water supply. Pakistan is running out of water at an alarming rate, and the authorities anticipate that it is likely to suffer a shortage of 31 million acre-feet (MAF) of water by 2025. Rainwater harvesting is the traditional method of storing water. A pilot-scale study of water conservation was conducted in the rural area of Lahore, Pakistan for the conservation of water and it proved to be successful. Rainwater harvesting is the easiest and cheapest method for the conservation of water.
