Total Hardness Kit
Water hardness is an identification of Calcium & Magnesium ions in the water. Hardness causes scaling in water pipes, water bodies, and other machines. The measure and subsequent control of water hardness is essential to prevent scaling and clogging. Our total hardness test kit counts the number of drops required to change the solution color to determine hardness concentration.
Standard Packing
- Reagent H1
- Reagent H2
- Reagent H3
- Beaker
- Literature
Standard Method
Total Hardness Kit complies with the standard method ( APHA-2340-C).
- Sufficient for approximately 50 tests.
Test Procedure
- Take a 10 ml sample in a beaker.
- Add H1, Two drops.
- Shake well.
- Add 3 drops of H2, the color will change to wine red.
- Titrate it with H3.
- The endpoint is sky blue.
- Count the number of drops & multiply with factor.
Permissible limit of Hardness in drinking water is 10-500 mg of CaCo3 per litre.
